"A Real Person Providing Real Help"
Two traits have been with me my entire life: helping people, and fixing things. Combined with a stubborn insistence on doing honest, good quality work, that's basically the whole business plan
Long before I was a certified POS programmer, I spent decades in restaurants themselves — working in, managing, and owning restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and 5-star fine dining establishments, starting back in high school. That background is still the backbone of what I do today: I currently program and support a fine dining restaurant's full seven-course menu, wine pairings, hold & fire timing, and modifiers for every scenario imaginable — the kind of setup that only makes sense if you've actually worked a floor, not just installed a terminal
I started learning computers way back in the early days of Macs and PCs. My first computer was a Mac with an 9-inch screen and 128 KB of RAM. In those days you could start a print job, have lunch, take a walk on the beach, and come back to find only half the page had printed — with plenty of time left to wait for the rest
We've come a long way since then. Everything's fast and instant now, but with everyone stretched thin just trying to keep up, it seemed natural to help however I could — and that's how Beacon Computer Solutions began in 1990
